Pump Connect

brought to you by Pumps & Systems

I was just doing a little research and I found an interesting read that inspired me to blog. I think if everyone thought like Mr. Bill Sifflard it would be a different time completely. If we can think positive, we could turn around this economy. Who knows why this all started, but it sometimes feels like we talked ourselves into it…. Let’s talk ourselves OUT of it! Join me in a positive spin!

Joseph, Thank you for your post. I agree with you and hope you have great success with your new repair shop. Our February issue will be on the aftermarket. It should be a good read. Let me know what you think. Stay Positive and Work Hard... That is recession proof! Take Care! Charli

Hiya,

I agree, Stay positive from the moment you wake up and do things,.

I just keep going forward and refuse to listen to the main stream media. I have been starting new ventures since 2007 and each one has had its ups and downs but there is growth, In the next 60 days or sooner, I am going to be opening a pump and motor repair shop here in my local town,

I think this "recession" is the perfect thing for "The people" to get back into the game,

Let me give you one quick example with pumps.

Right now in most places (well, near me) If I wanted to replace my swimming pool pump I would have no choice but to buy a new one from a local store. The problem is that buying a pump that is shipped from overseas does not leave much profit for the business owner and also drives the price up. It is also more expensive then having it "repaired" ( Oh I didn't). Moe people just need to be "offered" the service again and the pump repair industry will grow.

So what does this have to do with the recession?

Well, Just think, In the last 10 years, everyone wanted fast and cheap and lots of cheap products hit the market, BUT Now steel and everything else has gone up (pumps made from steel) so while the "pump repair" might have slowed in the last few years , now it can re-expand, because "repairing" a pump is actually cheaper then replacing it ( in most small cases like pool pumps, well pumps ejectors etc )

I now can offer "Pool Pumps Rebuilt for $89" giving me a nice profit and the customer, well they get the savings, because they don't have to buy a new super expensive pump. They just had theirs repaired for 1/3 of the cost of a new one. This also creates real home grown jobs ( more pump mechanics ) not "green shoots" .

Well, anyhow, I will close with

1) Offer Quality Repair

2) Offer a NICE warranty like the old days showing you stand behind your work.

Thanks for listening!

Charli,
You're right. Let's be positive and act normal. It's easy to be negative and hide. Let's get some action going.

Yes! Every sales person should turn off the news for awhile and get positive!!! "Let's make a Difference, Let's make it happen!" ~ Walter Bonnett, PSG

I agree with the positive thinking Charli! We are starting to see orders come in. There is too much negative news keeping people from spending the cash.

I do agree with that Bill! I don't necessary need a committee to approve my idea. I just like to have a positive and encouraging group around me and my team...

As an entrepeneur, I dislike the idea of the Mastermind group because it is too easy for a group to veto an idea before it is fully formed. You don't need a committee when your goal is to thread a needle.
