Hello!
This is to all of us pump related people, not just multiphase pump experienced people.
I would like to know your opinion, experiences, conclusions, "I've been told..:", etc. about the different multiphase pumping technologies available to date.
As far as I know, there are two proven multiphase technologies:
1. Twin screw pumps (modified).
2. Helico-Axial pumps.
About the second one I know very little. Anyone have some experience to share about these pumps? Twin screw pumps are increasingly being used worldwide and seems to be the best (or at least the most popular) way to do MPP, due to their wide operating range of flow, pressure and gas content.
There's a third case that some call multiphase: Progressive Cavity Pumps: However these pumps have problems with large amounts of gas due to dry running, because stator being always in contact with rotor. So I have excluded this type of pumps from my list.
This is my opinion and experience. I'd like to read other opinions and points of view.
